Eleven bikes in GTR family
On to the bikes themselves and the lightest frame, the GTR SL, comes in three models.
The GTR SL Chorus Race costs £2,999 and comes with a Campagnolo Chorus groupset and Campagnolo Zonda wheels, the GTR SL Ultegra Race costs £2,399 and has a Shimano Ultegra groupset and Mavic Aksium Elite wheels, and the GTR SL Dura-Ace Endurance also costs £2,999 and wears a Shimano Dura-Ace groupset and Mavic Aksium Elite wheels.
Meanwhile, the top-of-the-range machine in the GTR Team range is the GTR Team Athena Endurance, which has a Campagnolo Athena groupset and Campagnolo Zonda wears for £1,999. Step down a level and the GTR Team Ultegra Race is yours for £1,899 with a Shimano Ultegra groupset and Mavic Aksium Elite wheels, while the GTR Team 105 Endurance costs £1,649 and, you guessed it, has a Shimano 105 groupset and Mavic Aksium wheels.
Phew! Got all that? Well, there’s more. Wilier have also dipped their toe into the disc world with the GTR. There are two models, both based around the ‘endurance’ geometry. The GTR Disc Ultegra Endurance is the flagship bike and has a Shimano Ultegra groupset with hydraulic disc brakes and DT Swiss R24 Spline wheels, while the £2,399 GTR Disc 105 Endurance gets Shimano 105 components, again with hydraulic stoppers and the same DT Swiss hoops. Both bikes use Shimano’s new flat-mount disc standard, which gives them a really nice, clean look, and 12mm thru-axles. Outside of the GTR family, Wilier have another disc-equipped road bike – the alloy Montegrappa Disc, with a Shimano Tiagra groupset and TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes for £999.
That aside, and as we’ve already mentioned, the existing GTR remains in the range as the entry-level frame in the line-up, and there are two bikes, with a Shimano Tiagra and Campagnolo Veloce groupset for £1,299 and £1,349 respectively. There’s also a women’s version, the Luna, which wears a Shimano Tiagra groupset for £1,299.
