The ASO have graded the cobbled secteurs for Sunday’s race, with all 28 rated according to their difficulty.

Starting after 97.5 kilometres of racing, the Troisvilles – 2.2km long – is the first section and has been rated 3/5 on the difficulty scale.

The Quiévy, which arrives nine kilometres later shortly after the secteur at Viesly is one of the longest cobbled sections at 3.7km and has been rated 4/5.

Sections including St.Python and Verchain-Maugré all follow as the terrain rapidly switches between tarmac and pavè but the first real selection is likely to happy on the Arenberg.

Reached after 161.5km of racing, the uneven cobbles of the iconic Arenberg Trench have caused serious injuries to the likes of Johan Museeuw and Philippe Gaumont in the past and is the first secteur rated 5/5 for difficulty.

The Hornaing, another 3.7km stretch of pavè follows for those still in the leading group to tackle but it is in Orchies where the race is likely to split further.

Secteurs at Orchies and Auchy-lez-Orchies provide the platform for more riders to attack the peloton, particularly with the second five-star stretch, on the Mons-en-Pévelè to follow.

The third and final five-star secteur comes just less than 40 kilometres later – the iconic Carrefour de l’Arbre, followed almost immediately by Gruson.

Two further sections of pavé remain before the riders enter the velodrome at Roubaix for one of the most iconic finales in world sport.
