British apparel brand Sealskinz launch lightweight, waterproof cycling range

Sealskinz Capsule collection features bib shorts, bib tights, leg warmers and full-zip jacket

British apparel brand Sealskinz have launched a full range of waterproof road cycling clothing, including bib shorts, bib tights, leg warmers and a full zip jacket.

The King Lynn brand introduced their first waterproof sock nearly two decades ago, in 1998, and their Sealskinz Capsule Collection has been launched to answer demand for lightweight, waterproof cycling gear.

All products in the range boast a triple-layer waterproof fabric, which is both lightweight and breathable and boasts a 10,000mm waterproof rating.

Comfort has also been catered for, with the bib on both the tights and shorts crafted from a soft, stretchable lycra mesh – providing ventilation and comfort.

At the front of the bib straps, and on the lower back, Sealskinz have used a polylycra fabric meanwhile, which provides a close, body-hugging fit.

Flat lock seams are standard across the garments, while both bibs utilise a thermo-moulded Liege HP chamois, built by Cytek; the Liege HP uses three different foam densities, therefore providing complete padding for sensitive pressure points when you ride.

Moving on through the range, the jacket boasts the same three-layer waterproof fabric, which simply beads rainwater away, and features a close fit.

The ergonomic cut is designed, Sealskinz say, to allow for comfort whatever your riding position.

Elsewhere, laser-cut holes under the arms deliver added ventilation and there are three rear pockets so storage space should not be an issue.

Finally, the leg warmers and cycling tights complete the range – again it’s three-layer waterproof fabric while – as is standard across the range – the garments boast reflective branding.
