Campagnolo 80th anniversary groupset to be shown at the 2013 Cycle Show

We reported from the star-studded bash held by Campagnolo to launch the 80th Anniversary Edition of their flagship Super Record groupset.

You’ll soon have the chance to see it for yourselves at the Cycle Show at the Birmingham NEC from Friday September 27 to Sunday September 29.

RCUK readers are being offered tickets at discounted tickets to the show, which includes Bianchi, Colnago, Cube and Fondriest, among many others.

The Campagnolo 80th Anniversary groupset is likely to become a collector’s item but will be shown at The Cycle Show in September

Campagnolo’s special edition components, and two accompanying wheelsets, are expected to become collectors items.

Just 2013 of the special edition Super Record groupsets will be made, each with microsanded carbon components, and an opaque finish on the aluminium pieces for longevity.

We’ve also brought you an early look at the new Bora Ultra 35 wheelset, a pair of full-carbon hoops with a claimed weight of 1310 grams, and equipped with a hub rolling on a traditional cup and cone bearing system. If you’re heading to the Cycle Show, you’ll be able to enjoy a close-up view.

There is little conventional about the CULTTM ceramic bearings on which the Boras’ role, claimed to be nine-times smoother than a traditional stainless steel bearing. The alu-carbon equivalent employs the same bearings and spoke lacing but weighs a  claimed 1,590 grams a pair.

RoadCyclingUK will host the “premium track” offering show visitors a chance to test a machine valued at £1,500 or more. RCUK’s sister title, Ride UK, will host a shop battle between staff at BMC stockists. A BMX park contest, an electric bike village, and an MTB Demo Track are among the attractions.
