Madison have updated their clothing collection, with a selection of waterproof jackets to keep the autumn rain at bay.
Madison are a distributing giant, responsible for brands like Shimano and Cervelo in the UK, but they also have their own range of affordable cycle clothing.
The autumn/winter range sees three new jackets introduced to the road collection, starting with the Stratos Pack Jacket for £39.99 (pictured above).
The Stratos is a lightweight, packable and breathable jacket designed to fit in your jersey pocket to be whipped out to see off any sudden showers. Features include underarm and back mesh venting, a fleece-lined collar, subtle reflective print and rear pockets. Colours available are red, hi-vis yellow and semi-transparent white.
The Prime II Jacket (above) is step up in price at £59.99 but promises to be fully waterproof, with taped seams for added protection against any rain desperate to get inside the jacket. The bike-specific fit features extended sleeve and a dropped tail to keep you covered while riding.
Features include a waterproof main zip and chest pocket zip, pit zips, rear vent panel, large map pocket with storm flap, one hand draw cords at the hem and collar and Velcro adjusters on the cuffs. It’s available in black and hi-vis yellow.
Moving up a price brand once again, the Stellar II Jacket (above) is made from the same M:Tec 5000 waterproof and breathable fabric as the Prime II but is designed for low-light conditions and night rides thanks to six large reflective panels, side panel reflective print, dual reflective zips, reflective piping and multiple reflective logo’s and print on the chest, arms and back.
While the Stellar II is the top-of-the range jacket in the road range, if you plan on taking on the toughest of conditions, the Flux is the star performer in the mountain bike range, retailing at £119.99. The jacket, available in black, red and high-vis yellow, is built from a stretch fabric that offers a 20,000mm breathability and 10,000mm waterproof rating.
But back to skinny-tyred clothing, besides the jackets, the final new item in the road collection is the Club Short Sleeve Jersey for £39.99. And much of Madison’s existing range continues into 2012, with bib tights, bib shorts, mitts, sunglasses and saddles. Madison also offer a commuter range, with two new softshell jackets, the Trail (£69.99) and Flux (£99.99) among the highlights.
