Fabric’s fresh take on cycling accessories has seen some hugely impressive – and innovative – products emerge from their Frome HQ.
The firm’s mantra is to not bring anything to market unless they know it is better than the competitors – an ethos which extends all the way down from their saddles (check out the Scoop saddle which also finishes in the 100) and multi-tools, to Knurl bar tape.
Handlebar tape may be a relatively minor part of your bike setup, and is many cases an afterthought, but a fresh wrap of bar tape can make a big difference to how your bike feels – it is, after all, one of very few rider-bike contact points.
And not only should it feel good, but if you’re going to upgrade your handlebar tape, you might as well make it look good, too.
Fabric’s Knurl tape is the entry-level option in the four-strong tape range, which also features a hex-patterned tape, a full medical-grade silicone wrap and an exclusive buffalo leather ALM Tape.
Still, it’s not short on quality – it’s easy to wrap and comfortable, thanks to a layer of silicone gel under the grippy rubber surface. When we say grippy, we don’t mean super-tacky either, which can put some people off. It’s a happy medium.
The tape is available in six colours and if the green featured here doesn’t appeal, you can also pick blue, an eye-catching red, pink, black or white. And that’s all there is to it.
