Kinesis announced as title sponsor for 2017 CX Sportive Gravelcross Series

The end of summer doesn't have to mean the end of your cycling season

The end of summer doesn’t have to mean the end of your cycling season, with all-road and gravel events growing in popularity every year. And that includes the ever-popular CX Sportive Gravelcross Series, this year supported by British bike brand Kinesis.

The Kinesis UK Gravelcross Series includes seven rides across the south of England, combining quiet lanes and back roads with bridleways, trails and tougher rough stuff in a bid to spice up your riding through autumn and winter.

The first event in the series was last month, but the series continues with the Gold Rush in Salisbury on Sunday October 15, which is centred on the iconic cobbled climb of Gold Hill. Five more further events are already confirmed for 2017/18 series, with others to be announced for the new year.

Kinesis is the new title sponsor of the Gravelcross sportive series, which continues with the Gold Rush event on October 15

Kinesis has established a reputation for designing versatile adventure bikes suitable for both road and off-road riding, including the titanium Tripster ATR and, new for this year, the aluminium Tripster AT.

And CX Sportive’s Phil Harrison believes the partnership is a natural progression for both Kinesis and the event series.

“We started CX Sportive events in response to a movement towards people just riding, without restricting themselves to a type of bike, or defining themselves as one kind of rider,” said Harrison.

“In the very early days of the event, we first became aware of the Tripster ATR, and it’s a bike that certainly shaped our thinking and our ambition for what these events should be.

“This year, we’ve been excited to see Kinesis release the new Tripster AT, which puts top quality gravel riding in the reach a lot more people. Which is exactly what we want to do with the events.

“The Kinesis Gravelcross Series is open to anyone on any kind of bike that’s up to the job, but the modern gravel bike is very much the all-rounder at the centre of this world, and Kinesis are at the leading edge of the development of those bikes.”

All events in the series offer three distance options, with fully-marked routes, rider support, timing and catering. Though any bike can be used, they are tailor-made to get the most out of your CX or gravel bike.
