Rumour mill
The end of the Tour de France and the countdown to the conclusion of the 2015 season sees cycling’s transfer rumour mill go into overdrive, with contracts getting sorted and agents on the prowl.
And this year has been no different, with the Tour providing the perfect backdrop for discussion on riders’ futures, though no deals can be officially completed until the winter.
Already though, we know Richie Porte is to leave Team Sky, while world champion Michal Kwiatkowski’s days at Etixx-QuickStep are numbered.
Kwiatkowski’s team-mate Mark Cavendish is also still awaiting a new contract, with Trek Factory Racing and even a surprise move by MTN-Qhubeka being touted.
And with Sir Dave Brailsford previously admitting he is happy for the occasional big winter overhaul in terms of riding personnel, and with several Sky riders awaiting new deals, every climber worth his salt has been linked with pulling on a blue-striped jersey next year.
