Unsurprisingly, we’re constantly messing around with bikes at RoadCyclingUK, switching machines, swapping components, making repairs. It’s dirty work.
So Muc-Off’s aptly-named Dirty Work Wipes have proved a handy addition to the workshop. They’re available in a resealable pack of 15 for £2.99, or in a tub of 40 for £8.99.
How do these differ from conventional wet wipes that you can pick up at any supermarket? The updated Dirty Work Wipes feature Muc Off’s Ultimate Scrubbing Texture – so each wipe has a beaded surface with a citrus cleaning agent to get rid of hard-to-shift dirt, oil and grime.
We found them ideal for cleaning up derailleurs, rims, brakes, chainrings, bottle cages, and just about anything else that gets dirty on a ride – or for giving your bike a quick wipe down when it doesn’t require the full bucket and sponge treatment.
Each wipe is 195mmx205mm, so more than big enough to get a couple of jobs done at a time, while leaving enough room to clean up your hands.
Speaking of which, The Dirty Work Wipes strap line boasts ‘Kind to hands, tough on grime!’ True enough, they’re great for shifting dirt, and they get rid of oil from your hands in a jiffy. But while they contain lanolin to help condition the skin, we found to wipes to leave our hands dry after use and requiring a quick rinse to restore them to their former glory.
