Clancy became the first cyclist ever to win Olympic team pursuit gold at three consecutive Olympic Games when the British men’s quartet won in record-breaking time in Rio.

Rowsell Shand, meanwhile, played an integral role in powering the women’s quartet to their own record-breaking victory, following up the gold medal she won with Laura Trott and King in London four years ago.

More than 27,000 cycling enthusiasts are set to head to the cavernous NEC Arena across the weekend, with more than 300 companies exhibiting.

Cannondale, Trek, Pinarello, Canyon, Shimano, Campagnolo and SRAM are all among the big brands set to be showcasing their model year 2017 ranges.

A VeloVixen Cycling Hub, featuring guest speakers from the world of women’s cycling, will feature for the first time, while five test tracks will offer visitors the chance to try before they buy.

Cycle Show director Chris Holman said: “This year’s show promises to the biggest ever and with some amazing riders attending and new content for everyone to visit, it’s definitely not one to be missed.”
