Pro bike: Ben Swift’s Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2

Ben Swift is one of Britain’s most exciting young road race talents.

The Yorkshireman, still only 25, has been world scratch race champion on the track and a stage winner in some of the world’s biggest races, including the Tour Down Under and the Tour de Romandie.

Dave Brailsford thought highly enough of the Rotherham rider to pursue his signing at the inception of Team Sky, even though Swift had already reached an agreement with Katusha.

We caught up with Swift last month, when he shared his delight at the news that the Tour de France will start not only in his home country, but in his home county next year.

His Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 was on display at the recent IceBike house show of Shimano’s UK distributor, Madison, and we seized the opportunity to bring you these close up pictures.

The 5’10” Swift rides his Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 in a 56cm frame

Swift’s ownership is easy to deduce. He is one of nine British riders on Team Sky

When it comes to unwieldy names, the Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 has few rivals

Swift’s Dogma (let’s leave it there) is cabled for Dura Ace Di2 9070 – the electronic incarnation of Shimano’s flagship groupset

Like many pros, Swift uses an alloy handlebar stem. Unlike many, it is neither particularly low or particularly long

The Dogma’s giant down tube ends at an oversized bottom bracket, the better to absorb Swift’s considerable wattage

Swift’s steed was displayed with full carbon Dura Ace C35 wheels. The new 1,100 gram C24 tubular is more likely to be the choice of Team Sky’s climbers
