BMC Racing enjoyed a successful Tour de Yorkshire, capped by Ben Hermans’ stage win and with Samuel Sanchez sealing second place overall.
Sanchez was in the race-winning five-man attack on stage one, finishing fourth on the day, and climbed to second overall over the next two days.
Before the peloton rolled out for stage two in Selby, we went to check out the Spaniard’s steed in the paddock.
The BMC TeamMachine SLR01 is the Swiss firm’s flagship model and Sanchez’s machine stands out from those of his team-mates thanks to a number of subtle golden touches – a nod to his 2008 Olympic Games road race win.
