Pro bike: Team Wanty-Groupe Gobert’s Cube Litening C:68 for 2018

Cube to supply Litening C:68 for fourth consecutive year

Belgian Pro Continental team Wanty-Groupe Gobert has launched the Cube Litening C:68 bike it hopes will spur the squad onto great results in 2018.

The 2018 team bike, which marks the continuation of a three-year relationship with Cube, now features a new distinctive paintjob, with dark blue and fluro yellow highlights replacing the light blue colourway of 2017. The design also features the hashtag #RideForAntoine, in memory of Wanty-Groupe Gobert rider Antoine Demoitié, who died during the 2016 Gent–Wevelgem after being hit by a race motorbike.

The team’s 2018 bike is equipped with a Shimano Dura-Ace R9150 Di2 groupset, Fulcrum rolling stock, a San Marco saddle, Ritchey finishing kit and pedals from LOOK.

The C:68 frame is one of the lightest in the pro peloton, with a claimed weight that comes in just shy of 850g, achieved through a blend of 68 per cent high-modulus carbon fibre and a resin that incorporates nano-particles to further boost the stiffness-to-weight ratio, according to Cube.

The Litening C:68 bike has achieved a good haul of results in recent years, with a win at the 2016 Amstel Gold Race under Enrico Gasparotto the highlight. The team, which has included Briton Mark McNally in the past two years, has also topped the UCI Europe Tour team classification twice and enjoyed an energetic debut at the 2017 Tour de France.
