The cancellation of stage 19 of the 2013 Giro d’Italia has provided a perfect opportunity to share more pictures from photographer Roz Jones’ visit to the paddock on stage 18.
If you haven’t checked out Roz’ exclusive images of the final preparations of British time trial champion, Alex Dowsett, for the 20.6km uphill test from Mori to Polsa, you’re missing a treat. Click here now.
With Alex safely despatched from the starting house, Roz turned her attention to the other stars of the WorldTour peloton, including Euskaltel-Euskadi team leader, Samuel Sanchez, who led stage 18 until the final rider crossed the line, his time beaten only by that of maglia rosa, Vincenzo Nibali.
She also trained her lens on the steeds of Sanchez’ team-mate, Egoi Martinez, and the Felt F1 of Argos-Shimano’s Bert de Backer, as well as some of Garmin Sharp’s Cervelo machinery, and Katusha’s fleet of Canyon Aeroad CF machinery.
The action resumes today on a modified version of the original parcours for stage 20. Check back later for a full report and full-screen gallery of the action.
