Cannondale, Fondriest, Giant, Moda, Specialized, and Wilier bikes will be available to try on the RCUK Test Track at the London Bike Show.
Models from some of the most desirable brands in cycling can be ridden on the 500-metre test track at London’s Excel Arena for four days from Thursday January 17, 2013.
The same track will be used each evening by professional riders taking part in the IG Nocturne – Britain’s first indoor criterium.
ATB Sales, the Cycling Sports Group, Impact CT, Giant UK, Eurobike UK, and the Kingston Specialized Concept Store have each put up machines for test on the indoor track.
A host of other attractions will be staged, including a Cool Wall of the latest products, the DMR Pump Track, the Animal Bike Tour, featuring Martyn Ashton, and a training hub.
Genesis Bikes, Kask Helmets, Muc Off cleaning products, Oakley eyewear, and Reynolds Wheels are among the big name exhibitors set to display their wares at the show.
Two of Britain’s top teams – IG-Sigma Sport and Madison-Genesis – will unveil their squads for the 2013 season in the Jaguar Performance Theatre.
The RCUK Test Track will have a specially prepared surface of fine sand and chemicals to offer the grip needed for the IG Nocturne race programme, which gets underway at 5.30pm on Thursday January 17 with races for riders from the cycle industry, the media, and City firms.
At 5pm on Friday January 18, the racing continues with category two racers, a criterium for riders on fixed wheel track bikes, and the first of the big races: the Elite Women’s Criterium.
The Elite Men will take to the track at 6pm on Saturday January 19, after two support races. This invitation-only race is expected to attract some of the biggest names in cycling.
Sunday January 20 will round-off the racing programme with racing for category four riders, junior males, and Penny Farthing riders.
Tickets are on sale now and cost £16 for adults, and £13 for students and OAPs. Entry is free for up to four children accompanied by a fee-paying adult.
Each ticket is valid for entry to four different shows, including the Active Travel Show, the Outdoors Show, and the London Boat Show, as well as the London Bike Show.
