One of the most famous saddles ever made, the Selle Italia Turbo was popularised by five-times Tour de France winner Bernard Hinault. It was introduced in 1980 to wide acclaim and influenced the design of racing saddles for a decade, finally being supplanted at Selle Italia by the Flite and Turbomatic.
For 2010 it is back in the Selle Italia range in a choice of traditional black or shiny white, both applied to a synthetic leather upper. Beneath this lies variable padding over a Nylon 6 shell with steel rails completing the specification.
Identical in shape, materials and finish to the standard original, the new Turbo is a stylish option for the contemporary performance road cyclist. It is priced at £39.99 and is available through Selle Italia dealers throughout the UK.
