Sinclair unveils his mini-folding bicycle

Sir Clive Sinclair has unveiled his long-anticipated folding bicycle.

The ‘A Bike’, so named because when unfolded it resembles the letter ‘A’, weighs 12lb (5.4 kg) and apparently folds into a package of less than 0.03 cubic metres. The manufacturers are touting the bike as the world’s smallest folding bike, and it does sport some of the smallest bicycle wheels imaginable, but there are other similarly sized options out there should teeeny-weeny be your thing.

The mini-bike, unveiled in Singapore and set to go on sale worldwide next year at less than $300 ( around £160), will take riders as heavy as 247lb (110 kg) and is height-adjustable. Sinclair’s previous dabblings with things bicycling haven’t been a massive hit, to put it mildly, so it’ll be interesting to see how this one does. It’s clearly aimed at those with significant storage and portability issues, and looks like something out of Chorlton and the Wheelies to us.
