Last week we brought you our run down of ten of the UK’s steepest climbs.
And, judging by the response by that article, you are drawn by the challenge posed by the country’s toughest ascents – just as we are.
Britain’s climbs may lack the length of the legendary European mountain passes, but when it comes to short, sharp brutal slopes, there’s no shortage of options.
When we drew up our initial list of ten of the steepest UK climbs, we knew it couldn’t be an all-encompassing list and there were many equally fearsome, leg-burning candidates that missed the cut – all of which, rightly, deserved mentions.
So, if those first ten didn’t leave you breathless enough, read on for ten more of the UK’s steepest ascents from Applecross to Dorking and several stops in between.
How many have you ridden? Which is your favourite? Are there any lesser-known brutes we have missed out? Let us know in the forum or leave your comments below.
