Andre Greipel conquered the wind, the rain and his sprinting rivals on stage five of the Tour de France to prove he is still a major contender when it comes to sprint finishes.
On a day which saw the peloton battered by the increment weather which was also a feature of the earlier French stages 12 months ago, Greipel emerged triumphant after a route designed to pay homage to the victims of World War II, passing many war memorials on the fields of the Somme.
