Fabian Cancellara seized control of the Tour de France for the sixth time in his career by finishing third on stage two to move into the maillot jaune – and Spartacus will ride this yellow Trek Domane on stage three as a result.
Cancellara has now held the Tour’s yellow leader’s jersey in six editions of the race, stretching back to 2004, when he won the opening prologue as a 23-year-old prodigy.
This time round, Cancellara moved into the overall lead having finished third in the stage one overall time trial, before making the front split on stage two, on a day when crosswinds wreaked havoc in the Netherlands, and finishing third in the final sprint to earn four bonus seconds and pull on yellow.
That saw Trek Factory Racing’s mechanics get to work to prepare Cancellara’s yellow machine. Let’s take a closer look at the build in action.
