Marianne Vos reaffirmed her place in cycling legend with an unprecedented sixth straight UCI Cyclo-cross World Championship victory, the seventh of her career.
Added to her three world titles on the road – including her back-to-back successes in the last two years – and two rainbow jerseys won on the track, the Dutch wonder woman has now won 12 world championship gold medals in her illustrious career.
The weekend in Hoogerheide was not just about Vos however, with Zdenek Stybar highlighting his natural talent with victory in the men’s race and Helen Wyman earning Great Britain’s first elite medal since 2000.
