Hosting two Grand Tours and the Commonwealth Games, coupled with no shortage of two-wheeled success stories across the board, means that 2014 has been another fine year for British cycle sport.
That missing out on a British Grand Tour victory, for the first time in three years, was disappointing to some is a testament to how far the sport has come – and continues to go – in such a short space of time.
And Britain’s best were in superb form again this year, with World Championship and Commonwealth Games success and a number of notable victories across the cycling globe.
To condense that success into a highlights package is near-on impossible but we have settled on our pick of the ten best British performances.
