Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Alpecin) completed a set of Grand Tour wins with victory on stage nine of the Tour de France, attacking from the break to triumph on the first mountain-top finish of the 2016 race.

Dumoulin won two stages of the Vuelta a Espana in 2015, during a race in which the Dutchman announced himself as a potential general classification contender, and followed that up with victory on stage one of the Giro d’Italia, pulling on the maglia rosa in the process.

Now the Dutchman has joined an elite group of riders with victories in all three of cycling’s Grand Tours, having won stage nine on his Giant TCR Advanced SL.

Giant revamped the TCR, which was first introduced in 1997, last year and the updated chassis is the lightest frame they’ve ever produced, while also claiming it has the highest stiffness-to-weight ratio on the market. It certainly did Dumoulin no harm in the mountains and the frame also seeks to balance aerodynamics and comfort.
